Ellen Bashford is a self-taught British painter based in Hackney, East London. Using acrylic and modeling paste, she creates textured, abstract works inspired by Modernist geometry and Surrealist whimsy. Her vibrant compositions blend biomorphic forms, humor and absurdity, evoking scenes of gatherings, landscapes or outer space. In 2021, she was an artist-in-residence at Silver Lining, Hackney and is a featured artist with British sustainable design studio One Nine Eight Five.
