Shawn Lee is an artist from Malaysia based in London. He developed a passion for art from a young age. A self-taught painter, he pursued his craft with dedication, starting with still life before being drawn to en plein air painting. He painted with the Brighton Painting Group and London Plein Air, and in 2022, co-founded the Southern Plein Air group to share a common artistic vision. Influenced by traditional atelier practices and plein air techniques, Shawn's work emphasizes light, atmosphere, and subtle colour tones. Inspired by artists like Walter Sickert and John Singer Sargent, his work has been exhibited with the Royal Oil Painters Institute, Royal Society of Marine Artists, and Chelsea Art Society.
